In April 2025, a cyber attack on Co-Op's systems by the DragonForce/Scattered Spider group compromised the personal data of all 6.5 million members.
Stolen information included Names, Addresses, Phone Numbers, eMails and Membership Card details.
No financial data or passwords were breached, but the incident caused operational disruptions.
So, while the attackers got a lot of sensitive personal information, the critical distinction of "no passwords were breached" means that your actual login credentials for your Co-Op account were likely not directly exposed.
That said, do change your Password immediately !
This greatly reduces the risk of direct account takeovers on Co-Op's platform using the stolen data.
However, the breached Personal Data (names, addresses, emails) can still be used for other malicious purposes, such as Phishing attempts or Identity Theft, which is why Co-Op advised Members to be vigilant.
